Just a quick "Pinspired" post for today! With the start of the school year approaching, a tip for you to think about is to create classroom stationery during your first week of school. I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew it was worth trying last year. It was a big hit! The kids loved making it at the start of the year, it was FREE, and it had a variety of uses throughout the year:
- Any time I needed to write a thank you note on the children's behalf, I already had the cute element all set.
- I used it every time the PTO paid for a guest presenter to lead an assembly for us and they loved it.
- When we had a big classroom event that involved the parents donating time and resources I sent home thank yous on this stationery.
- When we did our peer appreciation activity (some years we do one around Valentine's Day, sometimes it's near Thanksgiving, sometimes it's near Christmas, but this year it was just because they needed to learn a lesson in being nice, hehe) I used this stationery, which made it more personalized.
All I needed to do to prepare was type my name at the top of a page. Then I cut sticky notes into 1 inch square pieces and gave a square to each student so they could draw their self portrait. I stuck them along the edge, wrote their names underneath each picture, and made copies. Simple!
In order to create the thank you notes, all I did was invest in some cute shaped sticky notes, and had each child write something (I didn't take the photo in this pin). It takes 4 or 5 sheets to fit all the notes, but since I make plenty of copies of the stationery to keep in the filing cabinet at the start of the year it works.
Have you made classroom stationery with your students before? Or if not, do you think you'll try it out?
